Luxury hotel opens in Indian capitalNew Delhi has seen the opening of its first all-suite hotel, in news that may be of interest to those going on flights to India for business trips.

The Svelte-Saket opened in the capital last week and is aimed at long-haul travellers who need a home away from home during their trip.

George Abraham, chief executive of the luxury hotel, told the Indo-Asian News Service that it is for people who need to stay for anything from two weeks to two years.

"We are targeting groups like MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions), business, relocation and medical tourists - segments that are characterised by brisk mobility," he commented.

Mr Abraham added that visitors can expect high levels of hospitality, since the budget hotel idea of do-it-yourself is not present in India.

The fifth floor of the hotel opens out onto a roof terrace that overlooks the skyline of southern Delhi, which could be ideal after a long meeting.

New Delhi is the second largest city in India after Mumbai.Meet the editors...
