India could be the perfect honeymoon countryHoneymoon couples looking for a romantic but different destination could choose holidays to India, it has been suggested.

An article on the MSN Life & Style website points out that the south Asian country is somewhere that not everyone will have been, but that many regions are perfect in terms of their lush vegetation and appearance.

Goa could be one region to consider because it is a beach resort that offers plenty of sunshine and a little bit of heaven on earth, the source attests.

It is also consistently popular with Britons thanks to its reputation as a mecca for backpackers.

In addition, there is also Kerala for an island vacation, where couples can stay in an idyllic beach hut.

Finally, Darjeeling could be another option to consider, since the Dooars jungle is located there and is ideal for spotting wildlife.

Approximately five million people went on holidays to India in 2007, according to figures cited in the Times of India.
