Money-saving tips for honeymoon holidaysAlthough honeymoons can be costly, one website has said that they need not break the bank if couples plan ahead to save money.

SheKnows.com suggests heading to honeymoon destinations such as Thailand and India during off-peak times, since this can present hundreds of pounds worth of savings while still offering the same benefits as busy times.

Secondly, couples could request frequent flyer miles on their wedding lists instead of household appliances in order to cut costs where flights are concerned.

Finally, the site recommends telling plenty of people that you are newly married, as this will often result in upgrades, discounts and free meals.

Writing for the Birmingham Mail recently, newlywed Emma McKinney said how much she had enjoyed her own honeymoon in both Bangkok and Phuket, even though they were a complete contrast to each other.

The couple said they had especially enjoyed a multi-course meal at a tiny Thai restaurant in Bangkok for only £7.50 each.
