Going without travel insurance could lead to legal action

Those people who decide to go on holiday without travel insurance run the risk of finding themselves in court if they cause an accident.

This is the advice of Perry Wilson, founder of InsureandGo, who pointed out that most people only think about potential injuries to themselves when purchasing policies or deciding not to.

He stressed: "It's not just you. If you run into somebody else and break their leg … you will be taken to court. You can be liable for anything."

Research published by the same firm earlier this month discovered that 13 per cent of people who have been on skiing or snowboarding excursions - for example, on holidays in Australia - have done so while under the influence of alcohol.

Of these people, 186,000 said they had actually had an accident as a result of doing so, with three per cent saying it was a serious one.Meet the editors...
