Family holiday to India was an unforgettable experienceA travel writer has described a recent holiday to India in which he took his family to experience the country's sights as he did while on business there in the 1980s.

Wayne Hemingway and his wife Geraldine, as well as their four children, decided to take one big holiday together while they all still had the chance, so headed to India last Christmas.

They began in Delhi, before heading to the Red Fort, Udaipur in Rajasthan, Jaisalmer and Calcutta, finishing the trip on the island of Havelock.

Mr Hemingway said the experiences were unforgettable and that the family was enthralled by the bustling streets and enterprising youngsters, as well as humbled by the meager existence of street children in Calcutta.

"[It] was much more than a holiday. It was a gift to us all. Above all, it got us talking and thinking and we have memories that will stay with us for ever," Mr Hemingway concluded.

Anyone keen on taking a similar holiday to the Hemingway family could consider booking their flights to India with Qatar Airways.Meet the editors...
