Virgin Atlantic's Clubhouse in London has been named world's best airport lounge in a luxury travel poll.

Virgin Atlantic's Clubhouse in London has been named world's best airport lounge in a luxury travel poll.

First-class passengers flying with the airline are able to sip cocktails, take advantage of a free spa and hair salon and enjoy the array of pre-flight entertainment in the lounge.

The clubhouse was voted best in the world by readers of the Telegraph's luxury travel magazine, Ultratravel.

Graham Boynton, writing for the newspaper, said: "The Virgin Clubhouse is run more like a five-star hotel than an airport lounge."

"The centrepiece," he continued, "is a magnificent 40-foot-long bar from which its crew ... dispense some of the best cocktails in London", created by mixologist Marc Plumridge.

Catering for children as well as adults, the Clubhouse also includes a children's area crammed with sweets and an area to play pool and watch films.
