Jaipur elephant ride a must on India holidaysA popular trip by elephant into the Amber Fort in Jaipur, India has been described as "a must-do" for anyone visiting the city.

According to the San Diego Daily Times, those on holidays to India should travel by elephant to the fortification on the northern frontier of Jaipur to view its "palace of opulent mosaics and mirrors".

A series of activities for tourists is suggested in an article about travelling to Jaipur, known as the Pink City, including exploring the city's bazaars, visiting or staying at the "magnificent" Rambagh Palace and wandering around the vast City Palace.

Trips within the Golden Triangle from Jaipur to the Taj Mahal and Jain temples at Dilwara, Ranakpur and Khajaraho to see the intricate carvings can also be organised, the source noted.

Amber Fort is situated 11 km from Jaipur and was built in 1592 from white marble and red sandstone alongside Maotha Lake. It incorporates Kali Temple, famed for its silver lions and silver doors.ADNFCR-1809-ID-19228143-ADNFCR
