Experience the solar eclipse from the sky on an Indian holidayTravellers looking for an exceptionally rare experience on their holiday to India may wish to book a seat aboard a special eclipse flight announced this week (June 22nd).

Passengers aboard the special Boeing 737-200 flight on July 22nd will be able to follow the solar eclipse taking place over India with a truly exceptional view, reported India's Economic Times.

"When a high speed flight flies along with the shadow in the same direction, viewers on board get the eclipse for a much longer duration," explained Mr C V Degun, spokesperson for Space Technology and Education.

He went on to say that from the ground, people's views could be obstructed by the weather during the monsoon season but people on board the flight will benefit from a view above the clouds.

The flight from Delhi will last around four hours and 20 minutes and should offer passengers a three-minute long eclipse view, 41,000 feet up in the air.

In July, the solar eclipse is expected to be visible from a strip of Asia that passes from India through Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, China and Japan.Meet the editors...
