Best City award heads to IndiaFlights to India could give holidaymakers the chance to see what the fuss is about after Udaipur was named the World's Best City.

The accolade was bestowed upon it by Travel + Leisure magazine as part of its 14th annual awards.

Udaipur beat off the opposition with the highest overall rating among the publication's readership, scoring 87.94 in the survey.

Matt Leppard, editor-in-chief of Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, one of the regional publications whose readers voted in the awards, notes the attraction that the part of the world holds for holidaymakers.

"The global interest in all that south-east Asia offers - from city boutique hotels to jungle retreats to world-class resorts - remains strong," he says.

Flights to India could allow travellers to visit the country's other top-rated cities, including Jaipur.
