Air India and Singapore Airlines have signed an agreement to boost their frequent flyer programmes.

Air India confirms deal with Singapore Airlines

Frequent flyers planning on booking cheap flights to India may be interested in a new deal between Air India and Singapore Airlines.

Air India has signed a frequent flyer programme (FFP) agreement with the company, which is to have benefits for their customers.

Members of the airlines' Flying Returns and KrisFlyer programmes will be able to earn and redeem mileage points on flights operated by each firm.

Arvind Jadhav, chair and managing director of Air India, expressed the company's delight at the new partnership, which, he claimed, will be of "immense benefit" to travellers.

"Members will now enjoy even greater opportunities of earning and redeeming their mileage on a single FFP card," he commented.

Furthermore, Huang Cheng Eng, Singapore Airlines' executive vice-president of marketing, said this would also offer a greater choice and flexibility over how they use their miles.

In related news, in-flight Wi-Fi access was recently voted the most important consideration for frequent flyer business people, according to a survey by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
