India to get new brand of Starwood hotelPeople booking flights to India may be interested to hear about the latest plans for new hotels across the country.

Global hotel chain Starwood intends to continue its expansion across India with three new Westin hotels and resorts due to open in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune later this year.

The company already has 23 hotels throughout India, with a further 15 in development.

Mumbai and Jaipur were the first cities in India to host the Four Points by Sheraton brand of hotel earlier this year.

Tourist attractions on offer in Mumbai include the Gateway of India and the Haji Ali mosque and the city is also the centre of India's thriving Bollywood film industry.

Next year will see the introduction of the Aloft brand in India, with five hotels due to open their doors to guests in 2010.

Starwood is not just focussing on India - it has plans to open more hotels across the Asia Pacific region, including in Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.
