Continental Airlines becomes a member of Star AlliancePeople planning holidays to Thailand may choose to fly with Continental Airlines, which is now part of Star Alliance.

Continental Airlines is the 25th carrier to join the group, which offers a wide, global network to its members.

Frequent fliers who use the company's OnePass scheme will now be eligible to receive and redeem Air Miles on all other Star Alliance member flights, while those who are members of the OnePass Gold and Platinum Elite programmes will experience additional benefits.

These include access to almost 1,000 exclusive airport lounges around the world as well as additional baggage allowance and dedicated check-in services.

Star Alliance was established over ten years ago with the aim of forging a global air travel network. It now offers 19,500 flights daily between all its members.

Continental Airlines was founded in 1934, making its first flight from Pueblo, Colorado to El Paso in Texas in July that year. It has since grown to become an award-winning, international carrier.
