Holidaymakers offered money saving adviceBrits planning to take holidays abroad and book flights to Thailand and elsewhere in 2010 have been offered some advice on how to reduce their costs.

According to Thomson and First Choice, there are a number of steps people can take to save money.

They noted that travellers should book their flights as early as possible, particularly if they intend to take a break during the school holidays.

"There will be less chance to grab a last-minute deal nearer the summer so if you want to get yourself a bargain and ensure you have the best choice in holiday, now is the best time to book," said Dermot Blastland, managing director of TUI Travel UK and Ireland.

Other top tips include shopping around for a good deal on foreign currency and being as flexible as possible with dates.

In related news, Travelmood recently claimed that Thailand is an excellent destination for a cheap long-haul break.
