Jet Airways launches new flights to South Africa

Travellers booking flights to India as part of a world tour could find it easier to find flights to South Africa from the country following Jet Airways' announcement that it is launching a new route to the nation.

A service from Mumbai to Johannesburg will now be operated by the Indian carrier, it revealed.

Starting from April 14th, holidaymakers returning to the UK may want to make use of the route to take in some World Cup football on their way home.

The tournament kicks off on June 11th with the opening match being played out between the host team and Mexico in Johannesburg.

International travellers can now take advantage of services flying out of India to 22 destinations around the world.

People not visiting Johannesburg during the football competition will still find plenty to keep them entertained.

Located just outside the city is the world heritage site the Vredefort Dome, a large crater which was formed when a meteor collided with the earth approximately two billion years ago.
