Travellers need £30k to visit the 100 Wonders of the WorldIt is estimated that a trip to visit the 100 Wonders of the Modern World will cost in the region of £30,000.

This is according to travel insurance provider PJ Hayman, which took into account travel, accommodation, living, entrance and visa costs when coming up with the figure.

Anyone who would like to undertake the ambitious journey could find themselves passing through a host of nations and visiting well-known landmarks such as the Taj Mahal in India and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

The company based its estimate on the famouswonders.com list, which picked out the top sights to see around the globe.

Among them are the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, Varanasi and the Ganges in India and Uluru in Australia.

People heading to Australia were told earlier this year that plans to ban climbing on the sacred Aborigine site had been dropped.

However, the government set some preconditions which could allow the climb to close, including a drop in the number of people carrying out the activity and the excursion no longer being the main reason to visit the national park.
