Book flights to India for a volunteer holidayPeople who would like to explore the world but want to travel in a sustainable manner should consider taking a volunteering holiday, it has been claimed.

One national newspaper has suggested some of the best options available to tourists who want to have an ethical travelling experience.

Booking flights to India could be top of the list for some environmentally-minded holidaymakers.

The Metro suggested taking a trip to Kerala, where travellers can work alongside voluntary organisation Viswadarsanam, with the aim of "greening the mind".

Volunteers with the project will be able to help with the organisation of nature camps and health programmes, as well as being able to work with alternative lifestyle programmes, the news provider informed.

Travellers will be able to learn about activities such as yoga, herbal medicine and meditation during their stay.

Last week, one travel company claimed that "voluntourism" will be one of the biggest trends during 2010, with travellers increasingly wanting to give something back to the places they visit.
