Travel to Hyderabad to see a rare coin collectionPeople who have booked flights to Hyderabad for their holidays may be interested in a new exhibit due to be displayed in the State Museum from August.

Visitors to the city will soon be able to see some of the finest examples from the ancient coin collection currently being stored by the Department of Archaeology and Museums.

Archaeology and museums director Chenna Reddy told express buzz that the institution will showcase "the best of the lot" because space constraints will prevent it from displaying the entire collection.

The official explained that the numismatics exhibit will spread across 17 of the museum's galleries.

Other installations on show at the museum include Buddhist artefacts, arms and armour, as well as pieces from the Ajanta, Brahmanical and Jain religious movements and monuments.

According to the official website for the Andhra Pradesh region, the building of the museum itself is a "fine example of Indo-Saracenic architecture" which was constructed in 1920.
