Qatar Airways expands fleet for flights to IndiaAnyone who is looking for flights to India may well be considering travelling with Qatar Airways and now the carrier has revealed that its fleet has doubled in size over the past five years.

In addition to adding new routes to destinations such as Bangalore, Amritsar and Goa since October last year, the company has also increased the number of aircrafts it operates.

Chief executive officer at Qatar Airways Akbar Al Baker said that the fleet expansion is good news for passengers.

"As our fleet increases, we are able to raise capacity on existing services and introduce new routes, which is continuing as planned despite the industry facing challenges amid the current global economic climate," he stated.

Flights to Bangalore were the first of the airline's new services to be launched in 2010, with destinations such as Copenhagen, Barcelona and Tokyo all set to be added to its network later in the year.
