Lufthansa launches new iPhone appsAnyone booking flights to India with Lufthansa could find that the airline's new applications - or apps - for the iPhone may be of use.

Its self-titled iPhone app offers travellers the chance to check up-to-date flight information, as well as allowing them to manage their bookings, check-in online and access their Lufthansa Miles & More account details.

People who do not have an iPhone but own another smart phone, such as the Blackberry, can expect a similar application to be available from the end of this month.

Additionally, the German carrier unveiled its MemberScout app specifically designed for Miles & More members.

It has been created to allow frequent fliers who have signed up to the scheme to communicate with one another, swap travel tips and find useful destination information.

Both applications are free to download and could be of use to anyone who regularly books cheap flights to India with the airline.

Lufthansa serves more than 250 destinations across 101 countries, providing transport to over 70 million passengers each year.
