Book flights to India for a golfing breakGolf fans who are looking for an exotic destination for their next break should consider booking flights to India, it has been claimed.

Kashmir is creating golf greens for tourists to enjoy, according to Asian Lite, which noted that the state could be described as "a paradise on earth".

Six 18-hole courses are to be developed to create a golf circuit the region, at a total cost of more than 750 million Indian rupees (£11.2 million), the news provider revealed.

Kashmir is currently home to five golf courses, including the 18-hole 72-par Royal Springs.

Located in the centre of the state's summer capital Srinagar, tourism director Farooq Ahmed Shah described it as "a dream course for any golfer. It is the best in India and among the best in the world".

In August, the Professional Golf Tour of India will be playing one of its tournaments at one of Srinagar's courses, although the specific venue has yet to be confirmed.
