Brits ?still plan summer holidaysDespite many people in the UK still feeling the pinch of the global economic turndown, more than three-quarters of Brits still plan to book flights abroad this summer.

According to the TripAdvisor Summer Travel Survey, some 76 per cent of Britons will be going overseas on holiday over the next few months, with only 11 per cent stating that they definitely will not.

And when they go on their trips, it would appear people are not afraid of holding back on the spending money, as 37 per cent plan to spend more than £1,000 per person when they get to their desired destination.

Meanwhile, one-fifth of those questioned revealed they will definitely be spending more on travel than they did last year when the nation was still in the midst of a recession.

Those looking for good value in a long-haul destination may find Melbourne is the place for them. According to Hotels.com, holidaymakers can get a five-star room in the city for just £100 per night.
