The Mango Festival in Delhi will give visitors an insight into the special place the fruit has in Indian culture.

Get a taste of India at the Mango Festival in DelhiThose taking cheap flights to India can enjoy a special celebration of one of the most abundant fruits to grow in the country.

Next month, locals and tourists will fill Delhi's Dilli Haat for the Mango Festival, where more than 500 different varieties of the fruit from regions across India will be on display.

Holidaymakers taking flights to Delhi will be able to sample mangoes from various different states including Uttar Pradesh and Punjab Haryana.

As well as tastings, there will be several competitions between mango growers for visitors to enjoy; while there will be experts on hand to give hints and tips on how people can nurture a mango tree successfully in their own garden.

In addition, there will be mango-themed musical performances, giving those on cheap flights to India an insight into the importance of mangoes to the country.

Another event holidaymakers can enjoy this year is the Commonwealth Games, which take place from October 3rd to the 14th in Delhi.
