Singapore Airlines a top long-haul carrierPeople who are booking flights to Thailand or other international locations for their holidays this year may be interested in one survey about airline services.

Research carried out by Which? placed Singapore Airlines as the second-best long-haul air service provider.

The carrier received an overall satisfaction score of 85 per cent, with passengers rating the airline on aspects such as cabin staff, luggage allowance and value for money.

Only Air New Zealand was given a better rating in the long-haul category, achieving 86 per cent.

Rochelle Turner, head of research for Which? Holiday, commented that picking a good airline can "really make a difference to your holiday".

She added: "While the cost of flights is important to customers, it's things like friendly cabin staff and reasonable luggage allowances that leave a lasting impression."

People seeking flights to Australia or other long-haul destinations may also be interested to learn that Singapore Airlines has regularly been praised for its service.

Last year the carrier received the title of best long-haul airline at the Guardian/Observer Travel Awards for the sixth year running.
