Lufthansa to offer more flights to India

European travellers planning to visit India later this year could make use of the German carrier's increased service to the country.

Lufthansa to offer more flights to IndiaAnyone booking flights to India later this year may find that airlines in the Lufthansa Group offer a service that suits them.

The German company has announced that it will run 78 flights to India per week, starting on October 29th, when it brings in its winter schedule.

Passengers will find that there are additional services to Delhi and Mumbai, with its Swiss Air carrier offering daily flights to both cities.

Meanwhile, the Austrian arm of the airline will provide five weekly flights to Mumbai from Vienna.

Axel Hilgers, South Asia director for Lufthansa, commented: "By improving connectivity from India's key gateways to four European hubs, our airline group supports the Indian travellers' growing needs for international mobility."

People booking flights to India with Lufthansa may be interested to know that the carrier was voted the best airline in Europe in the Skytrax 2010 World Airlines Awards survey last month.
