Commonwealth Games to highlight IndiaThe forthcoming Commonwealth Games could provide an ideal opportunity for people to enjoy cheap flights to India.

Starting on October 3rd, the Games will begin with a special opening ceremony and will see some of the world's leading sportspeople take part in a number of events.

According to a travel expert, it could also be the perfect time for people to discover India for the first time. Sam Walker believes that the main venue of Delhi offers a mix of old and new attractions such as the Lodhi Gardens and Humayun's Tomb.

However, he also suggested that Delhi can provide an ideal base for exploring more of the country. In particular, the so-called triangle tour of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur would allow travellers to experience the Taj Mahal as well as the deserts of Rajasthan.

It is the first time that India will host the Commonwealth Games, although it hosted the youth version of the event in 2008.
