Luxury train ideal for Indian sightseeingTravellers taking flights to India could be tempted to take a trip on the Royal Rajasthan  -the Indian royal train.

The luxury train offers tours of up to seven nights and visits a number of key destinations in India such as Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Jaipur, Varanasi and Agra.

Offering 13 deluxe saloons, two super-deluxe suites, an onboard spa, a boardroom and internet capability, the luxury train is an alternative way to discover the country and has proved popular with tourists since its introduction in January 2009.

Each coach is decorated with silk and velvet bedspreads, a writing table, silk furnishings, large beds and a sofa. In addition, guests can eat in the train's two restaurants, which serve a mix of traditional Rajasthani, Indian, Chinese and continental dishes.

Holidaymakers taking flights to Delhi can catch the train from the city's Safdarjung railway station.
