Serviced apartments could appeal to those planning a long stay in India, claims Key Hotels.

The brand is planning to open a 70-room long-stay hotel in Whitefield, Bengaluru and a 40-room apartment building in Hinjewadi, Prune by the end of 2011.

Keys Hotels already have nine hotels in India and are planning to increase their portfolio in the coming months as it expands operations, claims Sanjay Sethi, managing director and chief executive officer of Keys Hotels.

He added: "Our target is to have 2,500 to 3,000 odd hotel rooms under 'Keys' brand in the next three years."

Key Hotels' first property was opened in Trivandrum in September 2009 and was designed to provide affordable accommodation for mid-segment young travellers.

The company recently opened a 59-room property in Mahabaleshwar and has three owned hotels in Thiruvananthapuram, Bengaluru and Ludhiana with a further three managed establishments in Khandala and Mumbai.
