Over 20 new hotels planned for IndiaAt least 25 hotels could be opened in India by a Sweden-based company.

Svenska Hotels has confirmed that it plans to develop a number of hotels in the country over the next decade, reports mydigitalfc.com.

"Svenska is focusing on creating a new segment within the Indian hospitality landscape, with small format luxury hotels that offer personalised and exclusive services to upscale business clients," explained Zia Shiekh, chairman and managing director of Svenska Hotels.

The company recently opened a five-star hotel in Mumbai. Offering 30 rooms, the property is based at the Lokhandwala Complex and has five restaurants.

People taking flights to Bangalore could be interested in Svenska's second hotel which is due to open in the region in January. Svenska Bangalore in Electronic City will have a total of 56 rooms, a health club and a rooftop swimming pool.

Svenska are also developing a 40-room hotel in the Satbari area of Mehrauli in South Delhi.
