Air India has revealed an increase in cash profit during November last year.

The airline reported a record surplus of Rs 21.66 crore as it experienced a rise in passenger numbers as well as an increase in overall operating efficiency.

Overall, Air India saw a passenger load factor of 66.3 per cent during April-November 2010 - up from up from 63.1 per cent in the same period in the previous year.

International flights to India operated by the carrier achieved a passenger load factor increase to 65 per cent from 62.2 per cent in 2009. Air India also saw a rise in passenger loads on its domestic services, with an increase from 66.2 per cent to 70.4 per cent.

"The peak season for air travel would continue and our employees' commitment to meet the challenge is evident," said Arvind Jadhav, chief managing director of Air India.

In November, Air India reported a ten per cent in passenger bookings compared to the same period in 2009.
