Travellers heading away can find that airport parking is more affordable than they may have thought.

Airport parking can be an affordable option

Holidaymakers who are taking cheap flights to India and other locations have been advised that leaving their car at the airport may not be as expensive as they had thought.

Sammy Patel, head of car parks business at Peel Airports, which runs terminals such as Liverpool John Lennon and Robin Hood Airport, said the advantages of using airport parking include the convenience and choice available.

He explained that it removes the uncertainty and restrictions put in place by public transport and can be helpful for those travelling with young children.

"All car parks are within walking distance to the terminal building, without the need to wait for shuttle buses or transfers to a more remote off-site car park," Mr Patel added.

There could be a rise in the number of people looking for cheap flights to India with Gulf Air, after the operator announced it was increasing the number of trips it makes to the country.
