Prepare in advance before heading to India Taking a little time to prepare before boarding flights to Delhi or other locations in India could have benefits for travellers in the long-term, according to one expert.

Paarth Kumar, editor for Indiatravelblog.net, which offers tips and advice to people heading off to the country, said that some simple steps can make a visit to such a vast and exciting nation more straightforward.

He recommended booking a transfer from the airport before arriving, as well as getting hold of train tickets far in advance to ensure a place on the desired journey.

However, he overall praised the warmth and welcoming nature of the country to its visitors.

"India is an extremely hospitable country. Here, most of the people believe in the old phrase 'Atithi Devo Bhava' [the guest is God]," Mr Kumar added.

The wealth of experiences that await people who have taken flights to Delhi and other parts of the country were also recently praised by Sharron Livingston, editor for thetravelmagazine.net.
