Shilpa Shetty to open spa in Goa

Shilpa Shetty has announced plans to open a new spa resort in Goa.

Travellers taking flights to Goa could soon be able to visit a spa which is owned by Shilpa Shetty.

The Bollywood actress, who achieved fame in the UK when she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, has announced her plans to open the resort in the famous tourist destination, the Hindustan Times reported.

"Goa is a known tourist hub. It would be fantastic if we manage to open our spa chain's outlet there before the festive holiday season starts," Shetty said.

She explained that the plan to open in the area came from the fact that few spa companies appear to have opened in that side of the country, with the actress adding that she felt the locals also "deserve a good spa with super facilities".

People who took flights to Goa recently could have seen some of the fantastic street celebrations which are held each year with Diwali, with huge effigies created for a contest by the different districts.
