Travellers on flights to Mumbai could decide to spend a day at the races as one of the most exciting events on the calendar is set to take place this month.

The Gool S Poonawalla Million Race is for many people the high point of the city's hose racing season at the Mahalakshmi Racecourse.

As in the UK, the races provide a great opportunity for people to dress up in their best clothes and it could present the chance to meet with some of Indian's elite and celebrities.

This year's race takes place at the course on January 22nd 2012 and offers a chance to experience the excitement of the Indian races before the arrival of the intense summer heat.
