Delhi amazing place to see birdsBird spotters could be planning to book flights to Delhi after the city saw an influx of birds due to its mild weather.

The Okhla Bird Sanctuary has seen thousands of avian visitors arriving at the sanctuary in recent weeks, with some birds coming from as far away as China, Europe and Siberia, although many more arrive from the colder regions of India, the Deccan Herald reported.

JM Bannerjee, the ranger at the sanctuary, said he was delighted with the number of arrivals which have been seen this year.

"At present the barrage area is housing up to 25,000 to 30,000 migratory birds of at least 200 species. The official counting exercise is still going on but this is a rough estimate," Mr Bannerjee added.

There are many amazing sights to be seen by people taking flights to Delhi, with the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations and Beating of Retreat ceremony both due to take place in the city later this month.
