Art Fair kicks off in Delhi

The Delhi Art Fair has seen huge success in its first days as large numbers attend.

Art Fair kicks off in Delhi Travellers on flights to Delhi could be planning to fit in a trip to the city's Art Fair during their stay after it saw huge numbers visit during its opening days.

The India Art Fair opened its doors today (January 26th 2012) and witness high numbers of visitors, with organisers noting is was better than expected considering it fell during a public holiday.

People from across India travelled to the city in order to visit the fair, which is currently showing a range of works, including one by Pablo Picasso.

"We'd only seen a Souza, a Raza or a Hussain in books before. It's a wonderful experience to see their actual work displayed here," students Shivam and Naveen Mishra told India Today.

People who are more interested in look at birds than works of art could also be planning to take flights to Delhi soon as the number of avian visitors to the Okhla Bird Sanctuary was noted to be particularly diverse this year.
