Cape Town ready for descent of the fashionistas

Cape Town is poised to host one of the biggest events in its fashion calendar, the Cape Town Fashion Week.

Running from August 13th to 16th at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, the event aims to showcase some of the biggest names in the fashion world, as well as supporting up and coming acts.

Prominent South African designers will feature, including Rosenwerth, Hip Hop Clothing and Maya Press. Supermodel Jourdan Dunn will also show off designs for the first time.

"It is part of the Fashion Council's mandate to constantly develop and nurture new design talent, in an effort to further develop the industry in Cape Town and the province.

"We are immensely proud of the opportunity offered to these designers through participation the Cape Town Fashion Week," said Jackie Burger, editor of Elle Magazine and member of Cape Town Fashion Council.

Anyone booking flights to Cape Town to attend the event may also be interested to hear that the location is also famous for its harbour, Table Mountain and Cape Point.
