Keeping up with work ruining holidaysSome 3.6 million people have reported that they were unable to relax on their holidays this year due to being in touch with the office.

Insurance provider MORE TH>N carried out a survey and discovered that 37 per cent of holidaymakers blamed their Blackberry devices and laptops for causing stress while they should be relaxing.

However, additional research by 3 UK found that 31 per cent of workers said they felt they should stay in touch with the office in case of an emergency.

"People forget that the most precious time is the two weeks they take off with their family. They should leave the technology at home and go and enjoy it because companies will appreciate them coming back refreshed," said Carmel McCarthy, PR manager for MORE TH>N.

Business owners wishing to encourage their employees to work while on holiday may wish to book them flights to South Africa, since the World Travel Awards have named either Cape Town, Durban or Johannesburg as the best conferencing venue in Africa every year since 2001.
