German-based carrier Lufthansa has gained praise from one very satisfied customer, it has been reported.

German-based carrier Lufthansa has gained praise from one very satisfied customer, it has been reported.

According to MSNBC travel columnist Christopher Elliott, in an article about the holiday industry in general, Lufthansa was singled out by traveller and public speaker Barry Maher.

This could be useful news for those considering booking flights to South Africa, India or Thailand.

"Even in business class, the food was wonderful, the service excellent, the seats that recline into beds were comfortable and the entertainment selection excellent," he enthused.

In September, it emerged that Lufthansa had been voted the best airline in Europe in a survey of over 15 million passengers carried out by SkyTrax.

Meanwhile, last month, the carrier announced that it had taken control of the British airline BMI, raising Lufthansa's profile in the trans-Atlantic market.

Lufthansa is the largest airline in Europe in terms of overall passengers carried and offers flights to Cape Town, Johannesburg, India and Thailand, among other destinations.Meet the editors...
