More people taking holidays to South AfricaThe number of people taking holidays to South Africa is increasing, despite the global economic problems, it has been reported.

According to Travel Wires, figure from South African Tourism show that international arrivals grew at a rate of six per cent during the third quarter of this year.

Although this is not as large a figure as that seen for the first quarter, Moeketsi Mosola, chief executive of South African Tourism, said that it is a good achievement given the credit crunch and he remains confident that people will continue to visit.

"Growth should begin escalating again in the run-up to the 2010 World Cup and beyond as the international markets find an even keel again. The world is excited. People are looking forward to coming here," he commented.

South Africa was recently ranked by the Year Out Group as the best place in the world to take a gap year.
