A teenager who worked on a number of community projects in order to gain an award from her local police has been rewarded with a holiday to South Africa.

A teenager who worked on a number of community projects in order to gain an award from her local police has been rewarded with a holiday to South Africa.

Sehrish Akhtar, 16, was presented with the six-day trip for her and her family by South Yorkshire Police after working throughout year ten for the initiative.

She will now act as youth ambassador for her region when she heads abroad, the Doncaster Free Press reports.

Sehrish's parents may be hoping for a stop off at Franschhoek, close to Cape Town.

Matt Rudd of the Sunday Times recently recommended that town as being particularly classy, as well as being a great place to sample the newest beverages from the Cape Winelands.

The family are also likely to get more for their money at present, since the exchange rate between the rand and the pound is particularly favourable when compared with the pound and the euro.Meet the editors...
