Take holidays to Cape Town to appreciate its stark beautyPeople going on holidays to South Africa should make sure they visit Cape Town, a place of "stark beauty" and great cultural diversity, one travel writer has opined.

In an article for the Boston Daily Globe, David Abel said the city was somewhere he thoroughly enjoyed visiting and that he was glad to see some of its more alternative sights as opposed to the well-known attractions.

He and his girlfriend walked to the Slave Lodge and the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, which is home to 9,000 species of plants.

Mr Able said he also swam with penguins off Boulders Beach and hiked along the The Cape of Good Hope.

"We could have spent weeks in Cape Town," he concluded.

Yoon Chul, travel writer for the Korea Times, recently said that taking holidays to Cape Town could be a great stress remover, especially for those who visit the safari parks and Table Mountain.
