There has never been a better time to visit Cape TownAnyone who wants to experience holidays in Cape Town before the city is thrust into the limelight through a host of sporting events should go now.

This is the advice of Graham Boynton, writing for the Telegraph, who said he found the South African destination to be excellent value and "absolutely beautiful".

He added that the blue skies, warm climate and cool evenings the country is experiencing at present make Cape Town into "a beacon of sun-drenched optimism".

Meals out are also great value, the writer said, with a meal for three including wine costing under 700 rand (£50).

He concluded by pointing out that with sporting events including the football world cup and the cricket Twenty20 set for South Africa over the next 18 months, "the time to book is now".

Danny Jordaan, chief executive of the South African 2010 World Cup organising committee, recently said he is confident that all the venues for the world cup will be ready on time for the event, which kicks off on June 11th next year.
