Holidaymakers are "missing a trick" with their travel moneyBy researching the best deal on foreign currency, travellers could make their well-earned money work that little bit harder, according to a report from a foreign currency provider.

With 26 per cent of holidaymakers admitting to choosing where they buy their currency based on convenience and not on where they can get the best deal, people are "really missing a trick", according to a spokesperson from Tesco Travel Money.

"Getting a good deal on your foreign currency can make your holiday money stretch a lot further so it makes sense to shop around," the company added.

This is especially important when people have already gone out of their way to find themselves a cheap flight to Dubai or a good deal on a holiday to South Africa and other destinations.

According to research from the travel money firm, 34 per cent of UK travellers will aim to spend less once they arrive at their destination this year - setting an average budget of £400 per week.

Those heading on a cheap holiday to South Africa this July may wish to head to Durban for the events and festival surrounding the Mr Price Pro Durban World Qualifying Series surf championships taking place at the New Pier. Meet the editors...
