August and September are the "secret season" in South Africa	August and September are two of the best months to take a holiday in South Africa, according to one industry figure.

Beaumont House, a five-star, boutique hotel in Cape Town, said that one of the best times to visit the region was just before the spring season begins in the country.

The hotel describes August and September in Cape Town as the "secret season" as it is possible to visit the tourist sites and enjoy a holiday in South Africa without the hustle and bustle of the crowds.

According to Beaumont House, travellers can catch the cable car up to the top of Table Mountain without having to queue, play golf at a choice of times to tee off and be able to secure a table at a top restaurant without having to book weeks ahead.

Tourism Cape Town lists ten things that travellers should not miss on a holiday in the South African destination.

Some of these experiences include sipping champagne while taking in the views from Table Mountain, a kayak trip around Cape Point, a cage dive with crocodiles in Oudtshoorn and taking a picnic accompanied by live music at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.
