Emirates opens new airport lounge in JohannesburgThose catching a flight to Johannesburg - or flying to Dubai from the South African destination - may wish to take advantage of Emirates' new airport lounge.

"Emirates Lounges continue to provide a luxurious sanctuary and unbeatable service to our cherished customers," said Mohammed Mattar, divisional senior vice-president for airport services at the carrier.

"In our last financial year, over two million passengers enjoyed the facilities at Emirates' lounges around the world," he continued.

The new lounge is part of a 230 million Dhs (£38 million) investment that will bring the number of airport lounges owned by the airline to 23 and can be used by passengers flying in first or business class and gold members of the frequent flyer programme.

According to Lonely Planet, South Africa is the most visited destination by tourists in the whole of sub-Saharan Africa.

Gold Reef City is one of the most recommended places to visit for those taking a holiday in Johannesburg. Meet the editors...
