Football fans should shop around for currency dealsFootball fans taking cheap flights to South Africa for the upcoming World Cup are being advised to shop around for the best exchange rates before arriving in the country.

International Currency Exchange (ICE) said it is important that people look for the best deal on the South African rand, with the rate fluctuating between 12 and 10.721 to the pound.

Koko Sarkari, global head of ICE, stated that shopping around online for the best deals and arranging funds before arriving in the country is the best course of action and warned against walking around with large amounts of cash.

"It's not wise to carry too much cash so a mix of currency and travellers cheques is a good idea rather than incur hefty credit card charges," he added.

The World Cup, which will be the first ever held on the African continent, will start in 21 days with the hosts playing Mexico on June 11th.
