3D soccer experience to hit South AfricaAnyone who loves their football will no doubt have booked flights to South Africa ahead of the forthcoming World Cup competition.

But fans who have not been able to get their hands on any match tickets could find that the Sony 3D experiences to open in the country could be a good alternative to the live action.

The company is constructing several pavilions at various World Cup host cities, offering fans the chance to see highlights from the games in 3D on a big screen.

People who have booked flights to Johannesburg are in luck because Sony has selected Nelson Mandela Square in the Sandton district of the city as its premier location, meaning it will host the biggest screen.

In addition to the football action, Sony will also be showing music videos and performances in 3D, with several South African artists including Freshlyground, Lira and Vusi Mahlasela set to take to the stage.

Johannesburg is the location for the opening match of the tournament on June 11th when the hosts take on Mexico in their first group game.
