In an article for the Irish Times, Caroline Walsh wrote that people who go there can "be in different worlds within a matter of hours".

Those who get themselves cheap flights to South Africa can enjoy trips through winelands on the Western Cape, Cederberg Wilderness gorges and urban life in cities such as Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Recreational activities range from enjoying African drumming and dance performances to having beauty treatments in hotel spas.

Ms Walsh described how she had a Dr Fish treatment in the Lanzerac Hotel Spa, having dead skin eaten away by cyprinids while relaxing in a Jacuzzi.

The host country is due to play Mexico on June 11th, a match that will take place in Johannesburg.
