Cape Town the most alluring of South Africas citiesPeople who have booked flights to Cape Town have made a good choice, according to one travel writer, but jetting off after the World Cup is an even better option.

Writing for the Daily Telegraph, Francisca Kellett described Cape Town as "the most alluring of the South African cities" and strongly recommended that holidaymakers pay the destination a visit.

However, she advised waiting until the World Cup finishes in July before heading to the city.

Travellers who book for October or November will "get better weather [and] benefit from all that World Cup investment", Ms Kellett stated.

With eight of the 64 matches in the tournament to be played in Cape Town, thousands of football fans will get to sample its delights.

Ms Kellett offered some tips about the best places to eat in the city and suggested heading to one of the Waterfront restaurants for a seafood lunch, or trying the cuisine from Mama Africa for a taste of the continent.
