Book flights to South Africa for more than footballPeople who have booked flights to South Africa may be interested in some suggestions of things to do and see in the country that do not involve football.

Forbes.com has put together a selection of activities and attractions that could provide a distraction from the World Cup tournament or help travellers avoid it all together.

Top of the list is to climb Table Mountain, which is an option for anyone staying in or near Cape Town.

Another outdoor attraction near the city is the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, which travellers should visit during their stay.

Other options include heading to one of the country's wine estates for a tasting session, hiking in the Drakensberg Mountains near Durban and spending time at an elephant sanctuary just outside of Johannesburg.

The World Cup kicked off on June 11th, with the final set to take place on July 11th.

Next week (June 26th), the first matches in the knock-out stage of the competition will be played.
